Heading drafts

This was my first attempt at creating a heading for my newspaper. I chose an image of clipart which I thought was suitable for my tabloid newspaper. Similaraly to the Daily Mail, the logo is positioned in the middle of the heading of the paper. I took this idea from their heading as my target audience thought it looked the best out of the newspapers they are familiar with therefore this could attract them in the same way. To make it clear of the area that this newspaper was published, and the place where the stories would come from, I put 'IN SALFORD' under the main part of the heading. This will give it recognition of the city and it implies that it is a newspaper in more than one city.

For my second draftI kept the same title, font and layout however I changed the image to see what it would look like so I could decide which I preferred. I also moved the 'IN SALFORD' to the end of the main heading just to show variety of different layouts. When I compared the first two headings I decided that I preferred the first image, however I liked the positioning of the city at the end as it shows that it comes after the main heading therefore it is read as, 'The express, in Salford'.
